DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing our understanding of environmental health. Key tasks include researching and gathering toxicity values as well as screening levels for environmental contaminants from a range of federal and state agencies. Additionally, the position requires support in ensuring the quality and integrity of data through rigorous quality assurance and quality control processes. Another critical aspect of the role involves investigating and compiling relevant toxicology and epidemiology studies related to specific chemicals, which will contribute to a comprehensive assessment of their impacts. Furthermore, the individual will be expected to assist with various ad hoc projects as they arise, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to engage in diverse research initiatives as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Part-time internship for Fall of 2025 (15-20 hours per week)
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch
- Hours flexible based upon class schedule and course load
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements:
- Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors:
- Environmental Health/Toxicology
- Environmental Science/Engineering
- Public Health
- An approved major course of study at an accredited college or university.
- Freshman year completed.
- Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher).
- Pennsylvania residency or enrollment as a full-time student at a Pennsylvania college or university.
- This position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
