At OUTFRONT Media, a leader in Digital Out of Home (DOOH) advertising, we're blending cutting-edge technology with our nationwide network of digital billboards and transit displays to create innovative solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible. We're looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Director, Software Engineering to join our growing Software Engineering team. If you're excited about building high-performance ad platforms, solving complex problems, and collaborating with both internal and external teams, we want to hear from you!

As a Senior Director, Software Engineering, you'll leverage your hands-on expertise in software architecture, APIs, microservices, and cloud technologies to design and implement scalable, high-impact platform solutions that drive real business results. You'll partner with leadership to influence strategic decisions, ensuring our software systems evolve alongside the business to meet future needs. The OUTFRONT Media software engineering organization manages our cloud-based enterprise advertising platform providing users with tools necessary to create RFPs and execute contracts; pitch, plan, and measure campaigns; and efficiently transact on our available inventory at scale.

We are seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering to manage and develop a new software engineering team to deliver foundational capabilities for our platform and iterate on them as the business transforms. You will use your experience in building large scale and highly available distributed systems to remake our core business, OUTFRONT's D/OOH ad platform. You'll utilize a mix of SaaS solutions and API gateways with microservices as you partner with senior stakeholders across product, project management, engineering, operations, and data analytics disciplines to establish and execute the vision for our new platform.

Your depth of experience in technologies including functional and flexible programming languages, gRPC and REST web service frameworks, container (e.g., Kubernetes) and serverless (e.g., AWS Lambda) runtime environments, cloud databases and computer security will provide a multiplier effect to our organization. If you're a multi-tasker with strong attention to detail and you're ready to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, let's work together to build the future of advertising technology!

  • Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
  • Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments
  • Partner with senior leadership to stay aligned on business objectives, provide regular updates, and make data-driven decisions to drive progress
  • Be the subject matter expert in your area, understanding the ad tech landscape and identifying ways to leverage OUTFRONT's unique position in the market
  • Take the initiative to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve challenges that could hinder progress on strategic goals, ensuring the team remains on track to meet both technical and business objectives
