Job Description

As an AI/ML Scientist, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing machine learning models and AI solutions to solve complex operational and training challenges for Army Space Operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights that have direct impact to current and future space capabilities. This role is essential in ensuring that Army space capabilities are user-friendly, compliant with regulations, and effective in real-world scenarios. The candidate will leverage their expertise in AI/ML to enhance operational effectiveness and support mission success.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Engages in the conduct of research in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML)
  • Develop AI/ML techniques to expand the capability of autonomous systems research and development
  • Applies algorithms to large sets of structured and unstructured data.
  • Translate mission needs into analytical approaches to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Interface with end users to understand needs, concerns, and feedback related to space capabilities.
  • Leverage the Army's Enterprise Data Architecture for data management requirements.
  • Collaborate with other User Representatives, Capability Managers, project managers, and stakeholders to integrate AI/ML options into the overall capability development process.
  • Analyze appropriate datasets to identify patterns and insights.
  • Advise cross-functional teams on data visualization and UX solutions to enhance user experience.
  • Ensure AI solutions comply with privacy regulations and ethical standards.
  • Ensure transparent AI processes.
  • Stay updated with AI/ML advancements and incorporate them into current and future Army space efforts.
  • Participate in testing and evaluation activities to ensure new capabilities meet user AI/ML requirements and are effective in real-world scenarios.
  • Develop solutions for integrating data across multiple security enclaves.
  • Implement monitoring for AI model performance.
  • Design and manage data pipelines for project integration.
  • Improve system performance through AI/ML models and associated data engineering.
  • Brief ACM-SHA leadership on findings and potential mitigation factors.
  • Assist in synchronizing DOTMLPF-P areas for the fielding of new and upgraded Space capabilities.
  • Support Integrated Concept Development Teams by providing detailed analyses of AI/ML characteristics' warfighting capability impact.

Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field,
  • 5+ progressive years AI/ML experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must possess a current Top Secret (with SCI eligibility) security clearance to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in ineligibility for this position.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must have experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch TensorFlow).
  • Must have experience with big data technologies.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms for data storage model deployment is desired.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is desired:

    • Multi-Domain Operations
    • Space Control/Superiority
    • Electromagnetic Warfare (EW)
    • Satellite Communications (SATCOM)
    • Theater Space/HA Operations (e.g., NAVWAR, High-Altitude Platforms, Counter Surveillance and Reconnaissance)

Salary Range - Colorado: $120,000-$140,000
