Employment Specialist
DEPARTMENT Bayaud Enterprises partners with Denver Department of Housing Stability (HOST), Colorado Department of Correction (CDOC) and Denver International Airport (DEN) to conduct outreach and recruitment for job readiness programs. Denver Day Works (DDW) is for individuals and families experiencing homelessness that are not currently engaged in other community programs. The DEN New Heights program is for individuals recently released from CDOC. The overall purpose of these programs is to provide supportive services and job readiness that leads to employment in the community. Most of these programs also provide paid work experience to qualified clients while they engage in employment discovery and job search (DDW, New Heights). SUMMARY This position provides diverse employment services and navigation support to individuals with significant barriers to employment (i.e., people with disability, justice involved, experiencing poverty, and/or homelessness). Services for participants include vocational assessments, facilitating pre-vocational and post-employment individual and group services. Supporting participants to identify job goals, execute effective job searches, obtain suitable and appropriate employment, as well as retain employment over time. RESPONSIBILITIES

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret and variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment will be a combination of a temperature-controlled office environment and in the field meeting with participants in the Colorado weather. ALTERNATIVE WORK PLAN This position is not eligible for an "Alternative Work Plan". All duties must be performed in the office or in the community with participants. Special projects will be considered on a case-by-case basis. TRAVEL Occasional travel will include Meetings in the community. Pick up/delivery of supplies or items needed for participants. Other travel as needed. Will drive company vehicle for these purposes. If a personal vehicle is used for work travel, this driver will be reimbursed at the federal rate for mileage.
