JOB SUMMARY

As a Facility Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and performing minor repairs on building and shop equipment, both electrical and mechanical. This position is based at our Accident, Maryland facility and reports directly to the Production Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Ensure production machinery and tools are in safe working condition.
  • Perform general maintenance on machines, including cleaning, greasing, and servicing manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to assess productivity levels and replace worn-out parts to maintain optimal performance.
  • Utilize equipment blueprints to diagnose and resolve manufacturing equipment issues.
  • Address facility-related employee requests promptly.
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment following standardized procedures.
  • Comply with established safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain and repair various equipment, including:


    • Hand Tools
    • Overhead Cranes
    • Welders
    • Forklifts
    • Drill Presses
    • Mechanical Shears
    • Air Compressor Systems


  • Monitor and maintain the operation of all utility systems, such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).
  • Coordinate and inspect third-party cleaning services to ensure they meet expectations.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of the facility HVAC system with external vendors (as needed).
  • Oversee the maintenance of facility grounds, including lawn mowing and weed control.
  • Manage snow removal for facility roadways and parking areas.
  • Schedule required inspections for cranes, fire alarm systems, elevators, etc.
  • Coordinate trash and recycling removal.
  • Contribute to the development of processes and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance-related signage is up-to-date.
  • Perform additional responsibilities in the production department, such as mechanical assembly, as needed.
  • Be available for overtime and weekend work to keep equipment operating efficiently.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Technical School Training or equivalent on the job training or experience


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • 3 - 5 years of related experience
  • 2 years' experience working on Mechanical Equipment
  • 2 years' experience working on Electrical Equipment


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not required):



  • HVAC Certification/Experience working on HVAC Equipment
  • Electrician Certification
  • Use of a Facilities Case Management tool a plus


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Must have very good mechanical skills
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work well and communicate with others and work in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Hourly Pay Range Minimum $22.76 - Midpoint $28.45
