Journeyman Electrician

Since 1912, Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc., a subsidiary of MYR Group, Inc, has provided comprehensive electrical construction services to clients throughout the western U.S. Sturgeon Electric has two divisions, offering both power line construction and commercial/industrial electrical construction, making it a full-service electrical provider.

Sturgeon Electric's Commercial and Industrial (C&I) electrical construction division specializes in large-scale commercial electrical projects, telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, high voltage distribution service and maintenance to clients. Sturgeon Electric has experience performing projects under Integrated Lean Project Delivery methods, and also offers pre-construction services, in-house pre-fabrication capabilities, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) capabilities.

Essential Functions:

Installation of electrical systems, including wiring, conduit (Rigid), lighting fixtures.

* Be able to troubleshoot, maintain and repair existing electrical systems, diagnosing issues and replacing faulty parts utilizing various testing equipment.
* Ability to read and interpret prints, key notes and scope of work.

* Document actions, testing results, observations, final diagnosis of the situation and steps taken to resolve issues for each job or situation.
* Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor.
* Ability provide site specific repairs to conflicts or obstructions.
* Assist in installation or assembly of trade specific material and equipment in the shop, building, or jobsite.
* Assist with the set-up and operation of trade specific equipment and machinery.
* Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.

Qualifications:

Proficiency with the latest National Electrical Code and local codes.

* Perform inspections and maintenance on electrical systems to ensure safety and functionality.
* Adhere to all applicable requirements, including safety standards and local codes.
* Inventory and properly track supplies, equipment, tools and machinery.
* Communicate with coworkers effectively to promote efficiency.
* Experience in the commercial and or industrial electrical industry.
* Clean driving record and current license.
* Active State of Colorado Journeyman license.
* Experience reading mechanical and electrical blueprints

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary commensurate with experience with weekly pay.
• This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The terms and conditions of the collective bargaining union agreement will apply. Wage depends on experience and certifications, and benefits are detailed within the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
