HR SPECIALIST
LOUISVILLE, KY - LOUISVILLE PLANT

As a member of the Human Resources team, The Human Resources Specialist I will work under the direction of the Human Resources Manager. The HR Specialist will be responsible forinterviewing and training employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, assisting in policy and procedure development; and processing, verifying, and maintaining, and developing documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, and performance evaluations. This position will provide administrative support, flow of department activities and general support to the plant team members.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:



  • Oversee day to day HR function for team members
  • Explains company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
  • Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding process.
  • Records data for each employee, including such information as hire date, absences, counseling issues, and dates of and reasons for terminations.
  • Performs administrative functions such as payroll processing, checking discrepancies with time, handling filing status changes using Kronos and HR Service Center.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Completes paperwork and reports as required or requested with due diligence.
  • Assists with developing and implementing cost saving ideas and strategies.
  • Communicate with team on new or updated policies and procedures.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Coordinates and conducts training for Lear employees and staff regarding compliance/ethics, Expect Respect, safety, etc.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of the HR department regarding employee disclosures and issues.
  • Promote company's reputation as "best place to work"
  • Other duties as assigned



Your Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources/Labor Relations or a related field
  • 2-4 years of Human Resources and/or Recruiting
  • Great communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the business
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to interact with all levels in the organization
  • Effectively organize, set priorities, schedule assigned work; oversee multiple and rapidly changing priorities
  • Effectively execute tasks
  • High Energy with a People-Centered focus
  • Union experience preferred
