What You've Accomplished

You have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related engineering degree. You have 10 years of experience in the job offered or in a materials science or metallurgical engineering related occupation and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

Experience must include:



  1. Background in ferrous and nonferrous material behavior.
  2. Nuclear power experience of environment and operating conditions of a nuclear power reactor.
  3. Experience with effects of Neutrons on materials used in Nuclear reactors.
  4. Experience with Stress corrosion cracking causes, susceptible materials, and methods to mitigate and repair.
  5. Experience with Intergranular Stress corrosion cracking causes, susceptible materials, and methods to mitigate and repair.
  6. Experience in determining corrosion causes of dissimilar materials in contact.
  7. Experience in determining corrosion rates and prediction methods for determining length of time corrosion will result in total losses.

As a Supervisor, Engineering / Advisory Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the IBPE Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. Your work will include:



  • Lead team in solving complex engineering challenges on Nuclear Power Reactor Vessel and Coolant systems.
  • Responsible for resource planning of the materials and fracture mechanics specialists and execution of their solutions in the Installed Base Engineering organization.
  • Develop team through training, mentoring, feedback, and work assignments.
  • Provide guidance for addressing aging management of materials subjected to high temperatures, fatigue and neutron embrittlement.
  • Perform resource planning and direct the timely execution of engineering activities.
  • Work interactively with customers and clients to develop strong relationships.
  • Research and assess best practices, proposing methods and improvements.
  • Work with sales team to develop scope and provide inputs to proposals.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Supervisors of other teams.
  • Ensure effective performance of engineering assignments, and adherence to government, organization and customer engineering standards and procedures.
  • Maintain a healthy technical conscience within the team.
  • Monitor goals, objectives and standards of performance for assigned team members.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $173,576 - $174,785.95 per year, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
