Job Description Clinical Research Senior Coordinator serves as lead resource in the execution of assigned clinical research studies in accordance with approved protocols administered by the non-cancer Clinical Trials Management Organization for the Department of Neurological Surgery, Research Lab of Dr. Lauren Wengerd; oversees, implements amp; coordinates conduct of daily activities of research studies; serves as primary reviewer of patient records to assess and identify patients who meet criteria for participation in research studies; recruits, interviews and promotes study to eligible patients; educates patients and families of purpose, goals, and processes of clinical study; leads patient enrollment activities and ensures informed consent authorization is obtained amp; administered in compliance to regulatory amp; sponsor requirements; facilitates data collection and analysis, as well as scheduling and follow-through of research participant appointments; monitors participants for adverse reactions to study treatments, procedures, or medications and ensures timely reporting to the clinical team, sponsors, and regulatory agencies as appropriate. Collects, extracts, codes, and analyzes clinical research data in compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB), FDA, state, and sponsor regulations. Participates in internal and external quality assurance activities, including audits and compliance reviews. Contributes to the development of new research protocols and assists in the planning and execution of study goals. Delivers and/or monitors rehabilitation interventions and performs testing procedures involving human subjects with neurological impairments. Contributes to the development and evaluation of novel neurotechnologies targeting upper extremity paralysis due to stroke, spinal cord injury, ALS, and related conditions. Supports preparation and submission of peer-reviewed manuscripts, research reports, and grant proposals. Assists with mentoring and managing undergraduate and graduate students to support lab objectives. This role involves direct engagement with participants from diverse backgrounds and requires close collaboration with clinical providers and interdisciplinary research teams. Minimum Education Requirement Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences or other medical field, or equivalent combination of education experience required. Desired Education and Licensure Master's or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy. Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Ohio. Required Qualifications 3 years of relevant experience required. Doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related health sciences field. Experience conducting clinical research studies involving human subjects is required. Desired Qualifications Experience delivering rehabilitation-focused interventions and managing aspects of study operations, including regulatory compliance and participant coordination, is preferred. 4-6 years of experience preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
