Job Description

The Director of Sustainability will be tasked with setting the direction and developing strategic sustainability goals, overseeing the implementation of sustainability projects and managing reporting and communication of sustainability achievements.

The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of current sustainability practices and trends, and the ability to translate that knowledge into innovative, company-wide sustainability initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the company's sustainability strategy and programs to reduce carbon footprint and improve social responsibility
  • Develop procedures that outline and guide stakeholders regarding PCC's sustainability objectives
  • Manage PCC online sustainability reporting platform to ensure accurate and timely reporting across the PCC facilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to audit the PCC sustainability program and associated data
  • Assess and analyze current sustainability performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with different PCC locations to promote and integrate sustainable practices and awareness into daily operations
  • Coordinate with different PCC locations to ensure sustainability goals are met
  • Provide guidance to senior management on sustainability-related matters
  • Research new sustainability trends and practices
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
  • Identify opportunities for cost-effective investments in sustainability
  • Direct sustainability reporting and communication, both internally and externally
  • Set and monitor sustainability goals, objectives, and key performance indicators
  • Develop and deliver training and workshops on sustainability to employees
  • Stay up-to-date with developments and trends in sustainability and adjust strategies as needed

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration or a related field
  • Advanced degree or certification in sustainability or corporate responsibility is a plus
  • Proven experience in a similar role within sustainability
  • Knowledge of sustainability best practices and trends
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Awareness of local, state and federal environmental regulations
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Technical background with a demonstrated ability to lead a technical area
  • Ability to articulate complex issues and regulations to business leaders
  • Able to thrive in an environment that requires cross-functional interaction.

  • Ability to travel 30% to PCC facilities

For informational purposes only, the range for annual base salary for this role is $155,000 to $186,500 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Executive Bonus Plan, paid out up to 20% of the applicable annual base salary, based on the Company's performance in the prior calendar year. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency. The U.S. export control regulations define a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), and certain categories of Asylees and Refugees.
