Job Description Summary |
The
Assistant Athletic Communication Director is responsible for promotion of Nazareth University's athletic program through public relations work such as media contact, generation and dissemination of news releases, and production of publications. Also responsible for record- and stat-keeping for all sports and providing updated information through daily maintenance of the university's athletics website. |
Essential Functions |
- Promote university's 27-team athletic program through extensive media contact, assemblage of press releases and production of game-day publications.
- Oversee game-day operations for statisticians and see that results are disseminated to opposing schools and media outlets.
- Compile cumulative statistics and schedules for all athletic teams and submit to conference and national organizations as required.
- Disseminate information to Nazareth community.
- Serve as liaison to the NCAA and Empire 8 Conference.
- Provide both with statistical information and input for conference all-star teams.
- Submit nominations for athletes of the week.
- Maintain university's athletic web page.
- Keep current with updated scores, rosters, schedules, statistics.
- Coordinate all webcast and radio (and sometimes TV) broadcasts.
- Compile and create content for Nazareth athletics social media platforms.
- Create and edit video content, including Athlete of the Week Videos, season previews, and more.

Required Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills |
- Bachelor's degree.
- Strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of desk-top publishing software and familiarity with internet equipment.
- Working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and statcrew software, including live game inputting capability for soccer, basketball, lacrosse, volleyball, softball and hockey.
