The Role:

We are looking for our next HR Manager, Labor & Employee Relations within our Human Resources team. The HR Business Partner & Labor Relations Manager will provide both strategic and tactical HR leadership, focusing on labor relations, employee engagement, and talent acquisition, while supporting site-specific HR initiatives at our Keokuk and Gurnee locations. This is a high-visibility role that interacts with multiple levels of the organization and partners closely with management and union leadership.

This position is located in Keokuk, IA

Compensation:

The current salary range for this role is estimated to be $88,065-$119,200. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

What You'll Do:

  • Deliver both strategic and tactical HR support to leaders and employees, designing and implementing people-centered programs that enhance engagement and team performance.
  • Support various functions across the business as acting HR Business Partner
  • Administer the labor contract and represent management in labor and employee relations, including grievances, arbitrations, NLRB matters, and JLRC meetings.
  • Build and maintain cooperative, business-focused partnerships with Union leadership to align represented employees with organizational objectives.
  • Conduct investigations and resolve employee complaints related to compliance, working conditions, discrimination, and disciplinary actions.
  • Advise leadership on labor implications of new programs and policies.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to support recruitment efforts, including participation in the Workday requisition creation process, interview processes, and offer determinations and negotiations.
  • Provide coaching to mid-level leaders on HR policies, employee relations, and engagement strategies.
  • Recommend improvements to HR practices to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of employment laws and ensure site-level compliance, in collaboration with Legal and HR leadership.
  • Perform other HR-related duties and project work as assigned.

What You'll Need:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years in an HR Business Partner or generalist role.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing labor relations in a unionized environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build trust and partnerships with leaders and employees.
  • Demonstrated experience in project execution, organizational improvement, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems (Workday preferred).
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
  • Highly organized with an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Business Travel:

  • Monthly travel up to 15% between the Keokuk and Gurnee sites.
