Job Description

The Open Research Americas team at Taylor & Francis are looking to expand its customer success team to work closely with our institutional partners to ensure ongoing success of our open research program, to foster and grow our institutional relationships, and to contribute to revenue growth across a range of Taylor & Francis products in the Americas.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to make their mark in a new and expanding group and to build experience in rapidly developing business models. Reporting to a senior Open Research Relationship Manager, in the Open Research team, the role will focus on ensuring support for our expanding range of Open Research agreements. You will work closely and collaboratively with the Open Research business development team in the Americas, support sales Account Managers, as well as coordinating with product and marketing departments to generate account growth and deliver impact for our customers.

A data-driven mindset is a must. A strong academic publishing background and knowledge of open access would be a benefit. As a commercial support role, it is a salary-based position with a bonus component connected to customer success.

What you'll be doing:

  • Establishing and managing post-agreement customer success activity across open access and transformative agreement customers, building and fostering strong customer relationships to grow and develop accounts.
  • Taking a holistic view across all assigned accounts in the Americas to optimize customer value and look for additional revenue-generating activity.
  • Coordination of regular meetings with institutions to monitor progress and resolve challenges early and quickly.
  • Preparing account reporting and data analysis to drive agreement success.
  • Reporting on the performance of accounts internally to stakeholders and acting as an early warning sign if accounts are underperforming; generating and implementing creative ideas to ensure development and support for libraries.
  • Project manage additional activities related to new agreements and related to onboarding new institutional partners.
  • Working cross-functionally beyond the Commercial team to identify opportunities to grow accounts, including with Editorial and Marketing.
  • Carrying out data analysis and using a variety of tools to measure impact and demonstrate the value and ROI of the agreement across a wide variety of metrics.
  • Understanding and using alternative metrics and scholarly communication analysis to demonstrate the impact of the Read & Publish and other developing Open Research areas.
  • Understanding the broader Americas market dynamics for Open Research, as well as at the library and institutional level with regard to policies, guidelines, attitudes, and practices.
  • Supporting Open Research accounts across the whole portfolio.
  • Work with supervisor to continually improve best practice tools and guidelines in open research account management that can be implemented and replicated.
Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • 5-years experience and knowledge of academic publishing and the scholarly communication system.
  • Experience working with or in academic libraries.
  • A working knowledge of open access and associated funding models.
  • Strong data analytic skills and experience using data management tools.
  • A commercial background in account management or business development.
  • A proven track record of building successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.
  • Results-driven with a self-starter attitude to achieving success.
  • Fluency in Spanish and Portuguese would be beneficial but not a requirement

  • Location:The successful candidate will be able to utilizeour balanced working model. We ask that candidates live within acommutable distance of either of our offices in Philadelphia PAor Boca Raton FL to ensure that as a balanced worker they can make it to our office locations 3x per week.
