A Day in the Life: Implementation Specialist, Managed Transportation

This position can be hybrid at any of our locations (Seaford, DE , Fort Worth, TX , Kansas City, MO , Urbandale, IA , Orlando, FL , Scottsdale, AZ)

We're looking for our next Implementation Specialist in Managed Transportation-a strategic, analytical, and technically minded professional ready to lead transportation management system (TMS) implementations and enhancements from start to finish.

In this role, you'll take ownership of both new customer onboarding and continuous improvement initiatives for existing accounts. You'll work closely with customers, internal teams, and external vendors to gather requirements, configure systems, support integrations, and deliver ongoing value through optimization and innovation. What You'll Do:



  • Lead end-to-end TMS implementations and customer enhancements
  • Define project scope, timelines, and resource plans
  • Gather and translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Configure and tailor MercuryGate TMS solutions
  • Manage integrations using APIs, EDI, and related technologies
  • Perform data mapping, validation, and migration
  • Create and deliver user training and support documentation
  • Monitor post-launch performance and resolve system issues
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure successful outcomes
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement changes
  • Support PowerBI reporting and dashboard development
  • Guide and mentor team members on assigned accounts
  • Champion customer success and system adoption


Job Requirements: Is This You?



  • 7+ years in transportation/logistics required (3PL or freight brokerage preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with MercuryGate TMS, including configuration and support, required
  • Proficient in DAX and Java programming, required
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills; PowerBI experience a plus
  • In-depth understanding of transportation and logistics processes (e.g., route planning/optimization, carrier management, tracking, freight audit and payment, etc.), required
  • Bachelors or Associates degree preferred but not required.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects with competing priorities
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects

Work Environment & Eligibility



  • Hybrid to any RSC location; remote by exception
  • Office environment with occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs)
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
