The Cancer Center of Kansas (CCK) is seeking a full-time, on-site Payment Poster to join our team in our Wichita, KS offices. The typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM with no major holidays, no on-call and no weekends.

What does this position entail?

Under direct supervision, is responsible for processing and posting all payments (insurance and patient) incoming payments, reconciling receipts, and adjusting patient accounts. Follows standard procedures and pre-established guidelines to complete tasks. Additionally, the position supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology's Shared Values.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Processes and posts patient and payer payments accurately and timely in accordance to company policies and the Practice's standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Balances receipts, reconciles daily work batches, and prepares audit trail.

  • Maintains all checks and EOB's together by deposit date to ensure batch integrity.

  • Evaluate explanation of benefits for incorrect and/or inconsistencies in reimbursement.

  • Maintains confidentiality regarding patient account status and the financial affairs of clinic/corporation.

  • Identifies consistent fee schedule allowable differences and communicates upline for updating.

  • Communicates payor trends to supervisor.

  • Demonstrates compliance with all policies and procedures including HIPAA privacy rules and maintains confidentiality of patient and company information.

  • Attends required, applicable meetings.

  • Remains current on all compliance requirements.

  • Ensures all applicable policies and procedures of the company and Network are followed.

  • Other duties as requested or assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the position will have the following qualifications:

Education and or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum three (3) years' experience preferred in a medical business office setting with insurance processing and balancing responsibilities

  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is required.

  • Experience using a PMS and/ or EMR is a plus.

Certificates, Licenses or Registrations:

  • None required.
