Job Description Summary
Auburn University's Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering ( CSSE), situated within the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level to start on January 1, 2026. Auburn offers
competitive salaries and start-up packages. Responsibilities include research, graduate student supervision, graduate and undergraduate teaching, and service. Applicants must have the potential to develop a vigorous externally funded research program and a commitment to excellence in research and teaching. The selected candidate will be expected to both develop an independent extramurally funded research program in Cybersecurity and collaborate in research with faculty and staff affiliated with the Center for AI and Cybersecurity Engineering, Auburn University Applied Research Institute, and McCrary Institute for Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Security. In addition to developing new undergraduate/graduate courses related to Cybersecurity, they should be able to teach any of the required courses in Auburn's Master of Science in Cybersecurity Engineering degree program - in particular, they will be expected to teach one or more of these courses: Cybersecurity Threats & Countermeasures, Software Reverse Engineering, and Computer & Network Security.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are a bachelor's or master's degree as well as the PhD degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related discipline. PhD must be completed by the start of the appointment. The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.
Desired Qualifications
Area of emphasis in this search is Cybersecurity. Prior experience as faculty, as postdoctoral scholar, in industry or in government, and US citizenship are beneficial.
