Description

The Advanced Research Concept's team is hiring a Project Manager II. The Project Manager (PjM) assists the Program Manager (PM) in managing project execution and the management of personnel. The PjMII will work in close coordination with the Program Manager to ensure that projects stay within the Cost, Scope, and Schedule parameters defined in the contract or project charter. The PjM will work with the Technical Leads to ensure that the technology, product and service delivered to the customer meets their needs and helps to ensure job satisfaction of team members. The PjM will assist the PM in coordinating and communicating with project stakeholders, including customers, subcontractors, and AIS employees at all levels of the organization.

*This is a hybrid position with the ability to work onsite in Rome, NY.

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and manage projects by working closely with the Program Manager and technical leads to ensure company processes are executed to facilitate high quality deliverables.
  • Manage contract costs, schedules and technical performance commitments to ensure effective contract execution from kickoff through close-out.
  • Manage staff development, mentoring, problem resolution, and morale of geographically distributed workforce with guidance from the PM.
  • Manage business staff, customers, vendors, and partners.
  • Assists PM with proposal process including business strategy, teaming, cost estimation, WBS and schedule development.
  • Hire and manage the performance of employees under the direction of the Program Manager.
  • Contribute to the forecast and management of direct labor to achieve revenue goals.
  • Execute Program Manager's direction to ensure business growth and alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Support regular customer meetings, briefings, Technical Exchange Meetings, and business development opportunities.
  • Support the PM and technical team with the preparation of contract deliverables, including monthly status reports, final technical reports, and financial reporting.
  • Prepares and maintains updated work plans, estimates, and budgets.

Education/Experience/Skillset Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Engineering and Management, or a relevant discipline and 5 years' experience conducting/performing complex research focused technology projects/programs OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years technical leadership experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of DoD contract management
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to understand and describe technical systems and solutions

Preferred Experience/Skillset:

  • Familiarity with the SBIR/STTR program
  • Experience managing low-TRL research efforts
  • PMP certification

Clearance: Ability to obtain Top Secret; active TS/SCI is preferred.

US Salary Range: $107,000 - $150,000

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
