Join a leading mechanical services firm in South Windsor, CT, as our singular Staff Accountant-where your expertise in GAAP and construction accounting will drive financial integrity and strategic decision-making.

Hours & Pay

Pay Rate: $85,000 per year

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (1st Shift)

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Dress Code: Business Casual

What You'll Do



  • General Ledger Excellence: Prepare and post monthly journal entries; reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts to uphold GAAP compliance.
  • Tax & Compliance Management: Handle sales and use tax filings, 1099 processing, property tax payments, and insurance compliance tasks.
  • Inventory & Job Cost Control: Oversee inventory counts, analyze job cost reports, manage apprenticeship hour tracking, and support job forecasting.
  • Audit & Forecast Support: Assist with internal/external audits, month-end close activities, and monthly financial analyses.
  • Prevailing Wage Administration: Ensure accurate wage payments on projects across CT, MA, NY, and RI, and manage bond documentation.
  • Cross-Location Collaboration: Conduct light travel to divisional locations for inventory audits and financial reviews.

What You Bring



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
  • 2+ years' accounting experience, ideally with construction or service-based businesses
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and accounting best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and organizational skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
