Medical Writer Associate - Part-Time

General Summary of Position
We are actively recruiting for a part-time Medical Writer Associate to join our team at MedStar Health Research Institute.

What you will do
-Assists in the development of effective strategies for increasing journal promotion and growth
- Assists in the facilitation annual editorial board meeting including gathering submission data to present to the board.
- Assists the managing editor with maintain deadlines; coordinates the publication process including communicating with editors, authors, and publisher
- Assists the managing editor with the daily operations of the journal including managing submissions, assisting with identifying reviewers, and submit for publication.
- Assists the managing editor with the maintenance comprehensive database of all authors, manuscripts, and peer reviewers
- Assists the medical writer with managing multiple writing projects; researches, interprets and studies in collaboration with the key physician, write, and edit texts
- Assists with the review and edit of manuscripts, book chapters and abstract drafts; offers comments to improve the work
- Posts/updates cardiology-related articles and news on our website
- Represents the journal at various scientific meetings.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or other publications related field required
- 2 years experience in manuscript writing and editing required
- Excellent writing and organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and management.
