The Cargo Area Account Manager Responsible for growing the assigned territory by adding new accounts and selling additional services to existing Customers. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies, prospecting for business, driving growth, and building and maintain long-term relationships with Customers. The Cargo Area Account Manager is an organized collaborator and strong communicator that is ready to drive the future of Southwest Cargo.
This Denver-based role is offered as a remote workplace position, which may require travel fortrainings, meetings, conferences, etc. Outside of those required visits, the majority of your working time may be spent in an approved remote location within the Denver area.

Responsibilities
- Consult with Clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and provide ongoing support
- Answer Customers' questions about products, prices, availability, or credit terms
- Calculate cost estimates and spot rates by utilizing Customer intelligence, market research, and pricing resources to negotiate and implement pricing agreements that are competitive in the industry
- Create thorough pre-call plans by reviewing sales history, data reports, previous call notes, etc. to determine the most productive course of action
- Develop and maintain strong and productive relationships with senior level executives, and establish access and long-term relationships that can drive new business and grow existing business
- Negotiate prices or terms of sales or service agreements
- Visit Customer establishments to evaluate needs or to promote product or service sales
- Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information
- Complete expense reports, sales reports, or other paperwork
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer and personal services including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer Satisfaction
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits
- Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization's strategic plan
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information (such as speech, sounds, touch, or other sources)
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, which does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Preferred: Experience in cargo
- Preferred: Experience in Tableau, Salesforce, and Quickbase.
- Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in sales and account management
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits: Competitive market salary from $82,800 per year to $92,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience, with opportunity for future pay increases based on performance and market movement.
