Job Summary

Provide overall coordination of contract administration for maintenance, minor construction and major construction projects. Coordinate design efforts of outside consultants with in-house personnel. Implement bidding schedule and other initiatives as established by the Recreation Facilities Coordinator.

The salary range is $91,102.17 - $131,404.10.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in architecture/engineering/landscape architecture or related construction engineering/contracting or construction law degree.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in contract enforcement and/or contract administration.
  • Registration as a professional architect/engineer/landscape architect in Wisconsin is desirable.
Responsibilities

  • Develop and Maintain schedule for all construction and maintenance projects that require design and bidding. Track contract terms dates and prepare contract amendments or extensions.
  • Coordinate joint bids and blanket contracts with DFMS.
  • Coordinate bid specifications for all activity related to repair, renovation and construction of playfield, buildings and equipment.
  • Prepare request for proposal (RFP), bids, quotes for various construction related projects and contracted services. Prepare and distribute notifications for preliminary and final reviews of contract documents.
  • Update and maintain guide specifications and standards.
  • Schedule and oversee technical review of bid documents between in-house personnel and architect/consultants. Prepare front end of specifications on a project-by-project basis for all formal contracts. Prepare and forward all addenda during the bidding process.
  • Oversee submitted bid proposals for accuracy and legal requirements of the bidding process.
  • Work directly with consultants to ensure that MPS guide specifications are utilized.
  • Coordinate efforts of design consultants with in-house personnel for production of contract documents. Assign and coordinate activities of internal and contract employees.
  • Provide bid information to contracts clerk for advertisement preparation, including assignment of minority percentages for contracts.
  • Work directly with the Office of the City Attorney to obtain recommendations on legal matters as they relate to bidding and/or construction matters. Coordinate all written correspondence with bonding companies and/or general contractors.
  • Correspond with City of Milwaukees Historic Preservation Commission for approval of projects and designated historic sites.
  • Understanding permitting process and correspond with the City of Milwaukee for project approvals.
  • Review of online computerized maintenance management system for work orders.
  • Coordinate the auction of equipment.
  • Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
