Comagine Health is looking for a part-time Consultant - Systemwide Quality Improvement, working 12 hours per week. In this role, you will provide expert consultation to internal teams within, and external clients of, the Systemwide Quality Improvement (SQI) department of Comagine Health. SQI encompasses a broad portfolio of contracts and grants, organized into three primary service lines (population health, patient safety, and community health) serving clients including federal and state governments and private institutions.
The SQI department includes quality improvement and public health experts who apply their skills to improve the delivery of health care across a variety of settings.
Accountable to an SQI Director and other members of the SQI leadership team, the Consultant will serve as the primary interventionist and subject matter expert for providers, practices, long-term care facilities, and community partners or other stakeholders, to guide them through health system transformation and improvement initiatives to help increase their capacity to respond to a changing health care environment and deliver better care.
This position requires a deep knowledge of topics such as quality initiatives, patient safety, care coordination, population health, patient engagement, value-based payment initiatives, leadership and/or stakeholder engagement.

Competencies:


  • Comprehensive understanding of health care reform initiatives/environment.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Familiar with videoconference technology (e.g., Zoom)
  • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple simultaneous tasks in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of a variety of quality improvement methods and tools and/or clinical operations
  • Familiarity with health care terminology
  • Experience providing consultation that resulted in demonstrable improvement in health care clinical and operational workflows
  • Proficiency with project management concepts (e.g., project plans) and leading projects independently
  • Familiarity and hands-on experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Microsoft Teams (Preferred)



Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree relevant to the position (equivalent combination of education and/or work experience may be substituted)
  • Additional certification, education or training may be applicable based on specific contracts
  • Years of Experience in Related Field
  • 7 years of experience in health care, including quality improvement, outpatient practice, hospital, or long-term care administration, and/or clinical care
  • 2 years of consulting experience working with health care facilities



Desired Qualifications:


  • Masters degree
  • Certification related to quality improvement and/or clinical experience, preferred



Some of what you'll do:
Consultation and Delivery of Technical Assistance


  • Develop and deliver consulting and technical assistance within a variety of health care environments; set expectations, assign tasks to team members, and as appropriate also execute assigned tasks and/or phases of project plan.
  • Maintain advanced subject matter expertise regarding quality improvement, patient safety, change management, clinical topics and/or process improvement methodologies and theories.
  • Convene multiple interdisciplinary stakeholders, including health care executives and other key leaders, within or beyond the external health care system to build consensus, shared vision, and action plans that contribute to successful process redesign.
  • Provide consulting and technical assistance via face-to-face, telephone, video conference or other formats, to a variety of stakeholders, across a variety of topics.
  • Design and implement QI interventions, curricula, and processes.
  • Design and implement learning collaboratives, learning and action networks, and other broad-scale delivery of quality improvement education and training.
  • Design and contribute to development and maintenance of QI templates, tools, and other collateral training materials.
  • Serve as an expert speaker, presenter and/or trainer



Project Management


  • Maintain accountability, with support from leadership, for the successful performance of independent contracts or a major contract section or theme, assuring deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Support the planning and implementation of assigned projects, including development of a strong client-focused relationship, to ensure that the execution of contracts and projects meets the client needs, often requiring the need to flexibly pivot, or proactively engage the client in ongoing discussions to ensure deliverables are executed effectively.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of interventions and delivery of technical assistance and mentor other team members as needed
  • Organize and prioritize across multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Prepare reports on project progress for external customers.



Business Development


  • Contribute significantly to the development of proposals for consulting engagements.
  • Support proactive business development efforts to continuously build the consulting business and identify opportunities to expand to expand program portfolios in the SQI division
  • Represent Comagine Health to clients and stakeholders, including funders, associations, community partners, etc.
  • Understands and effectively communicates Comagine Health's mission, vision, and strategic priorities to a variety of audiences, both external and internal.



Salary Range:
$96,000-$119,000 (prorated per 0.3 FTE at $28,000-35,000)
The salary range posted reflects the range that Comagine is willing to pay for this position. Salary is determined by many factors, including but not limited to geographic location of where the employee will perform their job duties in addition to their knowledge, skills, education, and relevant work experience.
