The position is responsible for performing tactical duties related to the purchasing, expediting, and reporting of fixtures, equipment, and services. The Procurement coordinator collaborates, assists, and maintains effective communication with the buying team, various internal departments, contractors, and supply partners to monitor, correct and/or escalate issues related to delivery, quality, packaging, production, and logistical issues.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Generates new or revised purchase orders, using the Procurement system.

  • Verifies vendor product information, shipping information, delivery dates, budget codes, taxes, commodity codes and other related information.

  • Proofreads purchase orders, makes necessary corrections, and obtains Buyer or authorized signature.

  • Monitors and communicates quality, cost, and delivery performance issues to suppliers, business users, and others, to determine the gap and take corrective action.

  • Informs appropriate personnel on status of purchase orders as requested.

  • Supports the expediting of shipments for timely deliveries.

  • Respond to supplier inquiries as it pertains to delivery of goods, goods on back order and project timeline changes.

  • Provide follow-up for upcoming delivery dates and overdue/incorrect deliveries; including the review of backorders with Buyers, requistioners, 3rd party contractors, and/or suppliers.

  • Track PO placement and delivery of F&E for new stores, remodels, engineering, and capital projects

  • Assists with Procurement and delivery system testing prior to infrastructure deployments.

  • Conduct inquiry preparation, purchasing, expediting, quote analysis.

  • Supports invoice exceptions, receiving errors, uploads, and approvals to insure timely Supplier payments.

  • Training of 3rd party Construction Management, Team Members, Team Leaders, Suppliers in procurement procedures, processes, and systems.

  • Subject matter expert with various Meijer processes (Ariba, PPAO, USGN, Power BI, CAD Specs, Supplier commodities, Logistics)

  • Reporting: support daily Ariba reports, monitor 3rd party Construction delivery date entry

  • Support merchandising uploads

  • Data input of delivery date entry for Construction F&E materials

  • Liaison between 3rd party Construction Teams, Suppliers and Meijer Procurement to resolve questions, discrepancies, timelines. Maintains expediting/delays email accounts.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or supply chain preferred.

  • 1-2 years of procurement related experience

  • Purchasing, supplier collaboration, or supply chain experience

  • Reviewing, verifying, and processing requisitions and purchase orders.

  • Knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and procedures

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet specified goals and deadlines.

  • Strong communication, time management and service orientated skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Ariba and Power BI

  • Results oriented.

  • Independently motivated
