Maintenance Technician

Summary The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for providing facility maintenance, performing mechanical repairs on a variety of machines, operating machine tools as needed to repair machine parts, perform necessary lock out/tag out procedures on equipment being repaired, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area when repairing equipment while utilizing all safety equipment required. All work orders will be reported using a computerized system. Prior experience in the lumber industry or in a construction or manufacturing setting would be helpful. Prior experience as a maintenance technician in a production setting is required. Candidate should have 5 years of experience and/or education. Experience in welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics preferred. Basic machine electrical control experience required. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents in English, and communicate those out effectively. Bilingual skills are preferred, but not required. Professional communication is required. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and use basic math skills. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to work in a computer system generating reports and metrics. Knowledge of basic Microsoft Suite preferred. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
