Henry Ford Health is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Research Student to support research efforts in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Brigitte Harris Cancer Institute in Detroit. In this role, you will serve as a Research Student to support a physician scientist in their prospective and retrospective clinical research efforts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and compiling clinical information through electronic medical record review into retrospective databases. Utilizing this collected data, the candidate will assist the physician scientist by identifying novel research topics through literature review. The candidate will draft abstracts and manuscript publications with authorship. The candidate will additionally support prospective clinical trials and research studies by administering study interventions to patients on research studies. This position requires an understanding of medical terminology and proficiency with computer systems and software applications. GENERAL SUMMARY: Under supervision, the research student will be provided with the opportunity to be mentored by professionals in their chosen research field, to become familiar with the use of state-of-the-art scientific equipment and technology, and to learn valuable interpersonal and presentation skills. The goal is to expose aspiring researchers and clinicians to exciting advances in biomedical sciences that will help define their career paths. EDUCATION REQUIRED:
