About the Job

The Humphrey School's International Fellows Program is hiring a Teaching Specialist for its 2025 Communication Workshops.

Duration: August 1-August 30
Compensation: $4000

Teaching Specialists provide classroom teaching for courses that supplement the faculty offerings and/or expertise of the faculty. The teaching specialist also provides a source of classroom substitute instruction. The title may be used for credit and non-credit courses, workshops, seminars and conferences. It is not normally expected that persons in this classification would be expected to fulfill the other missions of the University. Service to the unit, college, or campus may be expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with International Fellow Program staff to plan curriculum, policies, and program details
  • Develop materials and teach the International Communication course for International Fellow Program
  • Develop curriculum materials, teach 25 hours, and provide feedback to Fellows
  • Create, develop and update the course Canvas site
  • Advise students regarding academic concerns and school-related organizations
  • Providing other related services or related teaching duties

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (or related field)
  • Teaching and curriculum development experience with international groups at the graduate and professional level

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience teaching mid-career professionals.
Pay and Benefits

Pay Rate: $4,000
