Overview

The Vice President, Clinical Operations is a member of the Carle leadership team and serves as part of a dyad leadership team with the medical director and works closely with the administrative team and associate medical directors in Carle's specialty care division. The Vice President also collaborates with physician and administrative leaders across the Carle Health System to advance Carle's key strategic goals. The Vice President, Clinical Operations is responsible to supervise overall business and clinical operations, lead quality improvement initiatives, oversee financial performance, and ensure optimal patient experience.

The Vice President, Clinical Operations will have an entrepreneurial focus and record of growing clinical services, combined with a strong skill set for operations and clinical program development. The Vice President, Clinical Operations will have responsibility for planning, directing, and coordinating initiatives related to quality, growth, patient experience/customer service, physician group practice management, and advancement of clinical teaching and research activity. The Vice President provides executive leadership to support the delivery of care and services and across Carle Health System and the communities we serve.

  • Master's Degree - Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related.

Work Experience:

  • Healthcare leadership - 5 years (Director level, VP preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Establish a patient-centric leadership approach.
  • Develop a strong administrative leadership team
  • Manage and support operational, clinical, and program development goals.
  • In collaboration with Medical Director, develop a strategic plan for each clinical area.
  • Build credibility and trust with physicians, senior leadership and staff across the organization.
  • Facilitate collaborative communication
  • Exchange of information between clinical institute, clinic division and departments, hospital leadership groups, and ambulatory clinics.
  • Define processes to clearly report quality and financial outcomes.
  • Create a shared vision to work collaboratively to achieve a common vision.
  • Ensure clinical and operational performance contributes to the overall financial health of the system.
  • Oversight of budgeting processes and management of operational budget.
  • Responsible for building a dynamic team dedicated to attaining optimal outcomes.
  • Be sure that the human, financial and material resources are aligned to produce successful operational results and of a competitive market advantage in the following areas: financial outcomes, customer service, work force (physician & support staff) capability and patient experience and service.
  • Monitor employee performance and ensure timely communication of goals, performance evaluations and continued personnel development.
  • Provide leadership, vision, and management to assigned departments.
  • Set departmental strategic direction and develop appropriate tactical plans to meet current and future strategic objectives Support achieving the overall objectives of the Carle Experience.
  • Assume a leadership role in quality improvement activities throughout the service line and system. Support physician engagement strategy.
  • Develop near and long-term financial goals for growth; responsible for coordinating appropriate growth for patient benefit and system efficiencies.
  • Initiate outreach programs to support referral patterns of community-based physicians and strategic partners. Develop marketing efforts that effect physician and community collaboration and partnerships.
