Overview

The Securian Casualty Claims team is responsible for initiating, reviewing, and supporting property and casualty claims. We are committed to delivering timely and accurate service that enhances the customer claims experience. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, data entry proficiency, and a customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Claims Processing:
    Create and maintain claim records for property and casualty products, including:

    • Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI)

    • Guaranteed Auto Protection (GAP)

    • Credit Property Insurance (CP)

    • Credit Involuntary Unemployment Insurance (IUI)
      Use multiple systems and collaborate with policyholders and internal departments to gather required documentation.

  • Customer Communication:
    Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, provide updates, and obtain supporting information to resolve issues.

  • Transaction Review:
    Process moderately complex transactions, verify documentation and authorization, and research account history as needed.

  • Liaison Duties:
    Route web inquiries and notifications to the appropriate teams or departments.

  • Correspondence Management:
    Draft, organize, and send claims-related correspondence to customers and stakeholders.

  • Title Support:
    Assist with the preparation and processing of title documents.

  • Compliance & Procedures:
    Follow established procedures with moderate supervision.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of diverse claims.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Effective problem-solving abilities and decision-making with minimal supervision.

  • Proficient in data entry and comfortable learning new systems and procedures.

  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

If you're in a commutable distance (90 minutes) you'll join us 3 days each week in our offices to collaborate and build relationships. Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules.

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$15.39 - $27.16

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
