Job Summary

The Catering Assistant will perform work associated with customer service including: event consultation & planning, billing reconciliation and on-site catering event setup and service.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Reviews and confirms client submitted on-line catering orders and delivers food or beverages to guests or other appropriate locations.

Job Duty 9 -
Assists in event set up of banquet tables, guest tables, buffet linens, or other fixtures.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Duty 2 -
Assists Director of Catering with catering proposal development including menus & event logistics.

Job Duty 3 -
Participates in Weekly BEO meetings with Catering FoH & BoH Management and acts as a liaison to Georgia Tech's Event Coordinator Network and attends the monthly meeting on behalf of Tech Catering.

Job Duty 4 -
Produces and maintains menu signage/ item identifiers for events.

Job Duty 5 -
Registers payment and sends correspondence for all outside orders requiring Credit Card payments through the GT Marketplace portal.

Job Duty 6 -
Processes billing, post event, by reconciling confirmed guest counts and other catering details to actual event day consumption to ensure accuracy in billing.

Job Duty 7 -
Responds to inquiries from customers or clients and resolves concerns or discrepancies; handles basic issues and problems; refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

Job Duty 8 -
Meets with clients in person to gather details on upcoming catered events.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
This position requires a high school diploma

Other Required Qualifications
Must have a valid State of Georgia Driver's License and ServSafe certified

Required Experience
2 or more years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
3 or more years of related experience

Proposed Salary

($33,282.00-$50,414.00) Recruiting range based on experienced.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES
Experience in the field of hospitality especially university-based catering and/or off-premise catering. Experience with creating personalized catering experiences for small ' medium sized groups. Ability to be creative and adapt in fast-paced environments. Experience with on-line catering ordering systems like Catertrax, Caterease.

SKILLS
Workable knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including: Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
