Job Summary
The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking candidates for a Diagnostic Microbiologist I/II within the Department of Pathobiology. The primary responsibility of the position is to process clinical samples submitted to the Bacteriology/Mycology diagnostic service laboratory in the department and report diagnostic findings.
Essential Functions
Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Process clinical samples and report diagnostic findings.
  • Oversee the specimen submissions.
  • Oversee laboratory materials and inventory.
  • Assist in research projects related to veterinary microbiology.
  • Provides oversight of student employees.

Education and Experience:


  • Level I - Bachelor's degree in Degree in Microbiology, or related Science and no experience.

  • Level II - Bachelor's degree in Degree in Microbiology, or related Science and 2 years of experience working with bacterial and fungal organisms.


Advanced degrees may substitute for years of experience.
