As we expand our market presence, we are seeking a strategic, results-driven Director of Business Development to spearhead commercial growth initiatives.

Position Summary
The Director of Business Development - Compounded Products will report directly to the SVP of Compounding and will be responsible for identifying, sizing, and executing business growth opportunities within the veterinary compounding space. This leader will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Commercial Enablement teams as well as Compounding Strategy & Analytics to design and implement strategies that drive adoption and revenue through both veterinarian and pet parent channels. Additionally, the Director will manage sales teams either directly or indirectly to ensure alignment with business objectives and successful execution of sales strategies. The Director will also ensure that our compounded offerings for companion pets are comprehensive and meet the needs of both veterinarian and pet parent customers.

This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in strategy and/or business development in pharmaceutical sales, with particular value placed on experience in generic drug or 503A or 503B compounded pharmaceutical markets. Experience in the animal health industry is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities
Opportunity Identification & Market Research
* Identify, prioritize, and evaluate new growth opportunities within the compounding product portfolio.
* Conduct robust market analysis, including competitor intelligence, customer segmentation, pricing insights, and regulatory trends.
* Lead efforts to quantify opportunity size and potential return on investment (ROI).

Strategic Planning & Recommendation

Develop strategic recommendations for go-to-market, sales channel optimization, and product positioning.
* Build detailed business cases to support investment in new initiatives, partnerships, and expansion efforts.
* Present findings and recommendations to the SVP of Compounding and other executive stakeholders.
Sales Team Management
* Manage sales teams either directly or indirectly to ensure alignment with business objectives and successful execution of sales strategies
Cross-Functional Execution
* Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Commercial Enablement teams to execute initiatives from planning through performance tracking.
* Support the design of campaigns, educational programs, sales training materials, and customer engagement strategies tailored to veterinarians and pet parents.
* Oversee pilots, launches, and feedback loops to refine offerings and improve commercial success.

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Development
* Act as a key point of contact for external partnerships, including veterinary networks, distribution channels, and advocacy groups.
* Represent the Compounding Division at internal strategy meetings and external industry events.

Required Qualifications
* 10+ years of experience in business development, corporate strategy, or commercial leadership within the pharmaceutical industry.
* Direct experience in pharmaceutical sales, with a strong preference for those with exposure to generic drugs or compounded medications.
* Strong business acumen with a track record of developing and executing go-to-market strategies.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive measurable business results.
* Advanced analytical and research capabilities, including financial modeling and ROI assessment.
* Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* MBA or advanced degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
* Experience in the animal health industry is preferred but not required.
* Knowledge of compounding regulations, quality standards, and distribution models in veterinary or human pharmaceuticals.
