Minimum Job Requirements

* Physical- ability to move about the manufacturing floor with or without reasonable accommodation.

* Working Hours- fulltime (40+ hrs/week) employment

* Able to travel up to 10% of the time

* Personal Traits- Highly motivated and results-driven. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills required and must be able to interact with employees at all levels of the organization as well as externally with regulatory agencies.

* Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy.

* Proficient in the use of MS Office software. Able to use PC keyboard.

* Proficient in English, strong writing skills required.

* Display good leadership qualities. Be a role model for the company and set the standard of Safety and Quality for employees of different levels to follow.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Directly responsible for maintaining Company Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program. Prepare reports and adhere to regulatory environmental reporting schedules. Develop, implement, and maintain overall Safety programs. Ensure departments have tools and resources to work safely, while meeting deadlines. Requisition of routine safety supplies as required.

* Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.

* Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.

* Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis; track and implement corrective/preventive actions.

* Maintain all required environmental and safety documentation, records, and reports (e.g., SDS, OSHA logs, emissions reports).

* Coordinate and conduct EHS training sessions for employees and leadership on topics such as PPE, Lockout/Tagout, hazard communication, and emergency response.

* Interface with regulatory agencies as needed, including during inspections or in response to compliance issues.

* Support and promote sustainability efforts, including waste reduction, energy conservation, and pollution prevention.

* Lead cross-functional safety teams to implement continuous improvement projects related to EHS performance.

* Monitor changes in regulations and industry standards and ensure company policies are updated accordingly.

* Serve as a technical resource for health and safety matters and support engineering teams in evaluating equipment or process changes for EHS impact.

* Provide training related to Environmental, Health and/or Safety

* Enforce safety culture in location of operation.

* Monitor and advise on OSHA regulations and assists the Company in compliance and OSHA investigations as necessary.

* Prepare quarterly updates to be presented in Safety Steering Committee meetings.

* Oversee the management of safety equipment, requisition supplies, and coordinate administrative activities as required.

* Participate in implementation of a 6S program.

* Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Extensive knowledge of Workplace Safety Programs and OSHA Regulations as they pertain to a manufacturing facility.

* Ability to investigate accidents and predict and assess potential ergonomic and Safety hazards before they occur.

* Experience doing ergonomic studies.

* General understanding of State and Federal environmental regulations.

* Experience creating and managing controlled documents including the following: control plan, PFMEA, and work instructions.

* Experience in corrective action and disciplined problem solving methodology. 8D preferred.

* Experience with AS9100 or other certified quality management system. Trained auditor preferred.

* Experience using MRP system. Epicor preferred.

* Excellent leadership skills. Ability to assess Safety requirements and to plan and direct staff.

* Excellent communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate and coordinate Safety and Quality Management Systems work plans with supervisors and others in the organization to ensure Safety, ISO and overall objectives are achieved.

* Ability to work independently with little direction.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field. 2-5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
