Location: Newark, CA.

Travel: Up to 40% US and International

Job Description:
As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, General Assembly/DFM, you will be involved in the complete product and process lifecycle, end to end. You will take products from concept to large scale manufacturing. You will closely work with design engineering to develop manufacturing equipment, conveyors, tools and fixtures required for full production while taking DFM concepts into consideration.

Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with design engineering to assess and improve manufacturability
  • Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Process/Tooling reviews
  • Drive product development from concept to production, including prototypes
  • Translate high-level assembly strategies into design change requests
  • Develop dimensional control and error-proofing strategies
  • Conduct Virtual Builds, PFMEAs, and create Quality Control Plans
  • Support cost/impact analysis, including detailed Make vs. Buy studies
  • Assess in-house capabilities; recommend new processes or equipment
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and ergonomic improvements
  • Provide clear rationale for manufacturing decisions to leadership
  • Mentor junior engineers and elevate team technical capabilities
  • Collaborate across departments on documentation and process improvements


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Engineering
  • 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, with experience launching complex GA processes
  • 5+ years of experience at a Tier 1 supplier or OEM
  • Expertise in CATIA, 3DX, and strong proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint
  • Skilled in creating detailed manufacturing documentation
  • Strong understanding of PFMEA, process validation, and quality systems
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and innovation
  • Flexible, proactive, and effective under pressure


The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
