TITLE: Equipment Maintenance Manager

POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position manages a team of Technicians and has overall responsibility for preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary to keep equipment well maintained and to ensure a safe, efficient and high-quality production operation. Incumbent needs to be self-driven, have good communication and interpersonal skills and able to handle stressful situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent; formal vocation training is a plus.
  • At least five years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance
  • Superior Mechanical and Electrical Abilities
  • Excellent trouble shooting and Problem-solving skills
  • Decision making experience
  • Project management skills to plan and organize work for team
  • Ability to lead a team and keep team motivated
  • Thorough understanding of relevant safety standards and regulations is essential for maintaining a safe work environment with a strong commitment to safety.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Lead and direct maintenance technicians and supervisors, ensuring they have the necessary training, resources, and guidance to perform their duties effectively.
  • Work towards improving equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and maximize the lifespan of machinery.
  • Design and update maintenance procedures
  • Implement and enforce workplace safety policies and standards
  • Budget and plan for maintenance expenses, purchasing spare parts, managing inventory, and coordinating with vendors for specialized repairs.
  • Audit and perform timely inspections
  • Trouble shoot and handle mechanical and electrical issues
  • Create and implement preventative maintenance schedules, work order management systems, and procedures for equipment upkeep
  • Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Water flow and Heat transfer applications
  • Welding as needed



WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:



  • Plant environment



PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:



  • Some stair climbing
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds or more
