As the hands-on EHS Manager, you will develop, implement, and coordinate the plant environmental, safety, and health programs in accordance with legal, corporate and facility directives to prevent incidents, mitigate risk, ensure an ongoing safety culture, and compliance with all related federal, state, and local regulations. You will collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify potential safety concerns, drive action-oriented root cause analysis investigations, conduct trend analyses and develop systemic strategies to mitigate risk and develop and reinforce safety culture of excellence. You will develop, implement, and deliver EHS training and education for team members, including new employee safety orientation. You will communicate effectively with a diverse set of internal customers and implement communication strategies that reinforce a high level of EHS awareness and compliance throughout the organization. This role will support three operations located in Germantown WI and Menomonee Falls and has one direct report. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the EHS management system; promote a zero incident EHS culture throughout the assigned sites and ensure employee engagement and compliance with internal standards through EHS teams and committees in order to meet the established targets and objectives for the year
- Partner with operations leadership to establish EHS KPIs for the functional managers and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and legal compliance improvement; develop appropriate lead/lag indicators to track EHS KPIs against targets and objectives
- Manage EHS safety database and identify root-cause of issues related to work injuries and illnesses and environmental issues; develop solutions to address identified EHS action items
- Partner with assigned sites leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place for Preventative Maintenance (PM) and engineering programs
- Facilitate risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects; work with leadership team to create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks
- Design and maintain training and guidance for EHS programs and standards; provide training for instructors and employees
- Partner with leadership team and conduct an annual evaluation of EHS compliance for local, state, and federal regulations
- Develop, implement and manage EHS compliance and risk prevention programs that meeting local regulatory requirements and CG Global EHS Requirements
- Generate and submit required regulatory reporting to external agencies such as EPA Air permitting emissions, EPA RCRA reporting and OSHA I&I reporting
- Identify and execute on EHS related continuous improvement projects that strategically reduce risk and ensure compliance
- Manage the EHS Management of Change process to assess and mitigate risks associated with changes that impact equipment, processes, chemicals and work environment
- Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
- Protect Chamberlain Group's and Systems' reputation by keeping information confidential.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
- Motivate and lead a high performance team by attracting, developing, engaging and retaining team members
- Drive the performance management and compensation processes by communicating job expectations, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing feedback and facilitating employee development per the company's policies
- Maintain transparent communication by appropriately communicating organization information to team through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, appropriate email, IM and regular interpersonal communications
- Lead and motivate individuals and teams to create a workplace culture that is consistent with the CGI mission, vision and values.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in Health and Safety or Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety program management
- Prior supervisory experience
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements and compliance
- Working knowledge of manufacturing technologies and processes
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and related applications
- Working knowledge of environmental and safety reporting and recordkeeping requirements
Preferred Qualifications CSP (Certified Safety Professional), OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer EHS experience in an approved Safe Industry program The pay range for this position is ($92,200 -$148,600 ) base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
