Job Title: Senior Manager, Business Systems Department: MERC College/Division: Mercer Engineering Research Center Primary Job Posting Location: Warner Robins, GA 31088-7810 Job Details: Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC), a research institute of Mercer University, provides high quality engineering, scientific, and technical support services to both government and private industry customers. MERC is recruiting for a Senior Manager of Business Systems for its Operations Directorate. Directs and participates in the development, management and execution of MERC Business systems Responsible for the management of all assigned personnel. Plans and evaluates the performance of assigned personnel. Establishes performance requirements and personnel development targets. Regularly monitors performance and provides coaching for performance improvement and development. Manages MERC resources including personnel, facilities, and materials. Provides input to MERC's training strategy and oversees the training of new employees. Builds and maintains a working environment of trust and teamwork; swiftly and effectively addresses issues that interfere with a cohesive and productive working environment. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: US Citizenship is required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance. A PhD degree in a relevant engineering field (SW, Computer Science, or Computer engineering) from an accredited college or university and 15 years of directly related technical and managerial experience; or a Master's degree in same and 17 years of directly related technical and managerial experience; or an undergraduate degree in same and 19 years of directly related technical and managerial experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven experience in designing and managing enterprise-level applications using MVC, .NET Core and Entity Framework Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps pipelines Strong front-end skills with JavaScript, jQuery, and responsive UI development utilizing Bootstrap Strong experience with SQLServer Experience integrating disparate systems Deep understanding of business process mapping, data architecture, and system integration Current experience using secure coding practices Experience in designing, building or maintaining business systems (HR, Finance, Payroll, Purchasing and receiving) Experience in building Microsoft-based interactive websites and desktop applications Experience in data modeling (traditional ER diagrams and/or object oriented) and enforcing business rules through the data model Experience with relational database design and implementation in Microsoft SQL Server (preferable), Oracle Your online application must include a cover letter and resume.
