Rutgers University-Camden is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Department of Biology and Center for Computational and Integrative Biology. This position will provide administrative support for active science-based department and center, supporting faculty in academics and research aims in the assigned unit.
The Administrative Assistant plans, organizes, executes, and coordinates office procedures and routines. Performs diversified and confidential, secretarial, clerical, and basic administrative duties that require judgment in the resolution of routine administrative processing issues and in the selection of the proper procedures to employ. Performs professional work that requires knowledge of general administrative/office management practices including email, telephone, filing, faxing, data entry, spreadsheet creation, report generation. This position is responsible for providing complex administrative support and customer-oriented services with the expectation that specific duties may shift depending on departmental need. |

Preferred Qualifications |
Knowledge of Cornerstone, Blackboard, and the University's policies and procedures is preferred. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially with Word and Excel a plus. |
Equipment Utilized |
Knowledge of or the ability to learn course platforms like Blackboard and Sakai and to help faculty with the use of them as necessary. |
Physical Demands and Work Environment |
Communication skills, flexible in an ever changing environment. Must be able to multi-task under pressure and meet tight deadlines. |
