1.Patient care tasks:
*Rooming patients: updating meds/allergies, vitals, smoking, alcohol, height and weight, and pain. Ask patient if they want a chaperone.
*Charge capture: Consult: 99213 and Follow/ups: 99211
*Chart checks for medical records: look ahead at chart/specialty note to see what might be missing in terms of records: path reports, PCP/OBGYN notes, breast imaging etc. Add bookmark.
*Update specialty notes: social history (i.e. work, kids). Imaging timing, following/not following, and date of update. Vanessa/Helene to update risk, genetics and NOTES section.
*Inform scheduler/Ailish of plan to help with scheduling and flow. Review follow-up instructions with patient and instruct them to stop and schedule with Ailish before departing.
*Help with genetic testing process.
2.Office Tasks
*Help with reminder calls as needed. (1-2 days before appts and checking at the same time if questionnaire answered and need to re-schedule).
*Monitoring and ordering of supplies for the clinic/exam room.
*Double check that we have not missed any genetic testing results.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Medical Assistant Program, EMT or Military Trained

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
No

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Will need to get within first week of orientation

Experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this position.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.
- Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure, as well as collect blood samples and other specimens.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Managing one's own time and the time of others.
