Senior Project Manager

Dr. Sonya Shin is a researcher with a focus on implementation science and community-based participatory research. Her current research portfolio includes work on Navajo Nation and in Peru. Dr. Shin and research staff at BWH are responsible for carrying out research and evaluation of these programmatic interventions. The Navajo-based portfolio includes research (and some non-research) activities focused on increasing water security, promoting healthy beverages among children and their families, Food is Medicine for heart failure, promoting community solutions to climate change, advancing global learning for health equity, and building local capacity for youth in science and community engaged research.
The Senior Project Manager will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and follow established policies and procedures. The Manager will function independently, strategizing primarily with the Principal Investigator, responsible for all aspects of project direction and administration. They will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of all Navajo-based research and program activities and will work with the PI to strategize for longer term planning and issues. The Senior Project Manager has responsibility for the financial management of the studies.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Responsible for all aspects of project direction and administration.
2.In collaboration with PI, establishes study procedures and recruitment strategies and oversees the day-to-day conduct of research projects in accordance with protocols.
3.Prepares project reports for the NIH and other funders.
4.Responsible for ensuring on-going IRB approvals for the study, including all relevant overseeing ethics committees and ceded reviews.
5.Responsible for the fiscal solvency of the research operation. Makes projections, prepares financial and project reports, and oversees budget.
6.Responsible for all HR issues on project. Oversees hiring, firing, evaluation, discipline, training and orientation of all staff. Has overall responsibility for supervision of all on-site staff, volunteers, interns.
7.Participates in grant writing and proposal.
8.Serves as the lead community contact and spokesperson for the studies, as needed. This includes communications and partnerships with community advisory group members, local community organizations and partners, local co-investigators / consultants, and early child education and school leadership and staff.
9.Ensures on-going data integrity of study by overseeing data collection and recording function.
10.All other duties, as required.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required and Master's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Experience in project management, preferably in the healthcare industry 5-7 years required and Team leadership experience 0-1 year required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Experience with healthcare-specific project management tools and techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Prior experience with financial management and data collection systems. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and perform complex financial analysis.

-Strong organizational skills to formulate and complete vigorous timetables and meet the complex financial restrictions of the contracts.
- Knowledge of NIH contract procedures and funding.
