Department Information The Campus Recreation Complex (CRC) is a 300,659 sq. ft. facility located on Ferst Drive on the West side of campus. The complex is a unique expansion of the existing swimming and diving venue built for the 1996 Olympic Games. Campus Recreation provides a premier recreation fitness center, aquatic center, recreation fields, and leadership challenge course for the Georgia Tech community. We offer programming that includes Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Fitness Instruction and Classes, and Outdoor Recreation.
Job Summary
This position's purpose will be to oversee the maintenance and operations of the CRC facilities. The position will assist in onsite communication with maintenance personnel and onsite contractors for repairs and renovations. The position will oversee all fitness equipment repairs and maintenance logs for the CRC and also for fitness spaces in residence halls.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 - Perform routine preventative maintenance and make repairs and adjustments to athletic and fitness equipment. To include major repairs, annual facility maintenance, and renovation projects, utilizing tracking methods for equipment repairs, work orders, parts, and life of equipment to inform and advise on replacement. This position will also maintain access and key records for building access. Repairs to equipment in both the Campus Recreation Center and outdoor recreation facilities.
Job Duty 2 - Assist in developing training and safety procedures/manuals related to recreational equipment and operations. Train and supervise students and/or temporary employees in the repair and restoration of fitness equipment and general facility maintenance.
Job Duty 3 - Coordinate and perform repairs and upkeep on fitness equipment and amenities located within the residents' halls and advise the Assistant Director of Facilities on the equipment replacement plan.
Job Duty 4 - Be a department liaison between the department and Infrastructure & Sustainability for maintenance and operations needs with onsite I&S staff.
Job Duty 5 - Prepare surplus equipment and coordinate pickup with the respective departments.
Job Duty 6 - Adhere to hazardous materials and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, standards, and guidelines.
Job Duty 7 - Assist in preparing the facility maintenance portion of the yearly budget. Maintain an annual budget for preventive maintenance programs and an inventory of parts. Purchase and keep accurate records of all replacement parts, materials, and supplies.
Job Duty 8 - Perform minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs as they relate to the operational aspects of the facility and ancillary areas.
Job Duty 9 - Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications CERTIFICATION, LICENSE, or PERMITS: o Forklift Operator o American Red Cross Professional Rescuer o Fitness Equipment Repair certification (Precor, Life Fitness,etc)
Required Experience Three to four years of job related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES Ability to work independently and effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the local community
KNOWLEDGE o Working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general repairs o Working knowledge of fitness equipment, including but not limited to treadmills, elliptical machines, and spinning bikes
SKILLS o Basic computer skills o Strong time management and organizational skills o This job requires skills in the use of small hand tools
