Job Summary:
The Project Manager for Quality Initiatives is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing strategic quality improvement projects across the organization. This role will lead cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions that enhance patient safety, clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, and overall performance.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Project Management
- Lead and manage multiple quality improvement initiatives from conception through implementation and evaluation.
- Develop detailed project charters, work plans, timelines, and communication strategies.
- Monitor project progress and adjust resources, timelines, and expectations as needed.
- Facilitate meetings, prepare agendas, and document outcomes and action items.
Quality Improvement & Performance Metrics
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA, or other quality improvement methodologies to drive measurable outcomes.
- Partner with clinical, operational, and support teams to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards related to quality, safety, and patient experience.
- Assist in root cause analyses and development of corrective action plans.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a liaison between departments, leadership, and frontline teams to promote alignment and engagement.
- Communicate project goals, updates, and outcomes effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Regulatory & Accreditation Support
- Support readiness for regulatory and accreditation surveys (e.g., The Joint Commission, CMS).
- Ensure projects align with national quality standards and healthcare policies.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collaborate with clinical analytics teams to gather and interpret data.
- Translate data into actionable insights to inform decision-making.
- Prepare presentations and reports for leadership and governance committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Nursing, Public Health, Business, or related field required. Master's degree (MPH, MHA, MBA, MSN) preferred. Minimum three years of experience in healthcare project management or quality improvement. Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus. Strong knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and healthcare quality metrics. Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Trello). Skilled in data interpretation and use of visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
