About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. We are looking for a Sourcing Specialist to develop and implement strategic sourcing strategy and manage local service category to provide procurement support and partnership to Rio Tinto Kennecott (RTK) Operations. This role will be the key contact for designated category, leading a best for business outcome through ensuring services are provided to site in a safe, cost effective, efficient, and timely manner. Working and reporting to the Procurement Business Partner, you will:
- Create and implement strategic sourcing strategy to drive value generation initiatives within defined scope
- Prepare bid packages, evaluate bid proposals, perform commercial analysis, create detailed recommendations to award and maintain category strategy implementation
- Demonstrate outstanding commercial and contract negotiation skills and be able to lead negotiations and build out complex negotiation plans to implement.
- Analyze contracts and identify opportunities to improve/ leverage total cost of ownership.
- Identify and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to measure and manage supplier performance.
- Develop and implement pipeline of value generating projects with creative mindset
- Be managing your own service category and its related stakeholders, and you will be able to visiting asset sites and earn high level of trust to bring value add to the operation
- Support other team members with team player mindset
About you To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree or higher with 5-10 years procurement experience.
- Strong and proven procurement negotiation abilities and contract negotiation experience, preferred
- Commercial acumen commensurate with role requirements
- Develop and execute category management strategies and plans.
- Contract performance management, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Ariba and SAP experience.
- The ability to drive "zero harm safety" into the contract and procurement processes.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Multitasking with effective time management, self-starter, proactive and team player with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrate an open-minded genuine curiosity towards understanding the needs of business and the impact of applied solutions
