Description

Under direct supervision, the Office Support Specialist performs specialized and essential support activities for the Health Matters and community programing in the Office of Correctional Medicine in accordance with policies and standards of performance. This position may be required to travel to correctional facilities statewide, events and community programs.


Examples of Duties

40 % 1.Records Health Matters videos and voiceovers for Health Matters educational modules and programming; provides feedback on video and voiceover scripts.
20% 2.Prepares and maintains complex, highly specialized records and reports; reviews and verifies documents and inquiries; compiles and assembles charts and data; prepares and maintains spreadsheet, dashboard or database files to maintain records and produce reports; provides information concerning document gathering and retrieval and explains or clarifies processes and procedures to partners or OCM staff; assures compliance with OCM supply and document retrieval and storage.
20% 3.Recommends supply, model and prop inventory for the video production room.
10% 4.Assists with and participates in OCM job fairs and staff and community events.
5% 5.Maintains an overall awareness of organizational activities of importance or impact to the designated member(s) of the unit staff and the unit; develops and trains OCM staff and partners on ethical, compassionate and non-judgmental aspects and techniques needed in the performance of services.
5% 6.Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  1. High school graduation or equivalent.
  2. Any one or any combination of the following, totaling six (6) months of experience in the categories below:
    1. work experience performing office/clerical activities, including use of computer systems
    2. college or university course work in any curriculum
      • twelve (12) semester hours = six (6) months
