Perfusion Assistant

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a full-time Perfusion Assistant to join the perfusion team. We are currently hiring full-time (40 hrs/week). The role will require working varied shifts and schedules, on call and travel between all Inova Hospitals. We offer competitive salary; pay based on experience, and on call pay. Perfusion Assistant Job Responsibilities:

• The Perfusion Assistant works alongside a clinical perfusionist during cardiac surgery to ensure the procedure goes smoothly and allow the perfusionist to focus on the patient.
• Performs the setup of equipment, assists the perfusionist by handling supplies, monitors the patient, and perform cleanup and waste disposal at the end.
• Focuses on the health of the patient's heart and lungs during the surgery, sterilizes the machine and equipment, orders supplies, loads the cart with essential gear before the procedure, checks vitals, maintains medical records, and helps the perfusionist in any way necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Perfusion Assistant Minimum qualifications:

• Education: High School or GED.

  • Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required within 3 months of start.
  
  

Perfusion Assistant preferred qualifications:

• Clinical experience in an Operating Room
• Interest in the perfusion field
• Experience with cell savers
