Software Engineer - CIAM

Is your passion platform engineering? Are you interested in envisioning and building the core services that underpin all Thomson Reuters products? Then we want you on our team!

This role is in the Platform Engineering organization, where we build the foundational capabilities on which Thomson Reuters runs. Our team is responsible for the Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) Platform, a consolidated identity system designed to securely manage customer authentication and coarse-grained authorization for users and services accessing any product or service offered by Thomson Reuters. CIAM is meant to consolidate and replace the many disparate, disconnected and custom-developed identity systems at Thomson Reuters with a common, high-secure, high-available, cloud and standards-based, vendor-managed solution.

As a platform engineer, you must thrive in a technical role and naturally be a collaborative and transparent team member. You'll be working primarily with:

  • AWS and Azure public cloud.
  • Identity platforms (Auth0 and Ping) and identity standards (OAuth, OIDC, SAML and SCIM).
  • Java and/or .NET core.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer, you will:

Develop and Deliver:

  • Participation in all aspects of the development lifecycle: Ideation, Design, Build, Test and Operate.
  • Emphasize test and deployment automation.
  • Utilizing a variety of software and tools both commercial and open source.
  • Collaborate with technologists across the company to build cloud native applications.
  • Developing REST APIs using Java or .Net core.
  • Ensure consistency with cloud architectural guiding principles for assigned projects.

Be collaborative:

  • Extreme transparency and collaboration with all product teams.
  • Ongoing participation in Scrum team, and an embrace of an agile work model. This includes collaboration with other Software Engineers, Test Automation Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Product Owners and Scrum Master.

Be curious and innovative:

  • Keep up to date with emerging cloud technology trends especially in identity access management and open source/cloud vendors such as AWS and Azure.

About You

You are fit for the role of Software Engineer, if you have:

Basic qualifications:

  • Interest in Identity Management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Knowledge and/or experience developing REST APIs using Java or .Net Core.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related technology program.
  • Experience with a major Identity Provider such as Ping, Okta, Auth0 either for workforce or customer identity and access management.
  • Experience with automation and CI/CD tools using CloudFormation, Terraform or GitOps.
  • Experience developing cloud native applications and services on Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Familiarity or experience with identity management solutions using OAuth2, OIDC, SAML or SCIM.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $70,000 - $130,000.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
