Position Mission: Expedites incoming and outgoing freight. Performs various duties including receiving, staging, stocking, pulling and staging. Processes inventory and maximizes warehouse space usage as well as any other general duties to include housekeeping, as necessary. Responsibilities: The following section contains the primary responsibilities for this position. Responsibilities: * Accurately checks, verifies, stocks, and pulls inventory to meet store and customer orders. * Moves products from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas. * Performs daily inspections of appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including but not limited to: pallet jack and hand truck, scanners and printers, and ladders. * Operates warehouse machinery in accordance with established safety procedures as needed to maintain the warehouse stock. * Maintains cleanliness of warehouse by disposing of trash nightly and sweeping floors daily. * Completes required trainings and certifications as instructed. * Stays abreast of and complies with hazardous material regulations and procedures. * Complies with all applicable laws / regulations, as well as company policies / procedures. * Maintains and contributes to a safe, positive working environment. Actively participates in all safety initiatives. Utilize and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required or as needed. * Must be able to work as a team and ability to get along and have good working relationship with other employees. * Communicate effectively across all departments as needed. * Perform other duties as assigned by management. Experience, Education, and Abilities: * Requires completion of a high school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of experience and education. * Previous experience in a distribution center and/or warehouse environment preferred. * Forklift certification a plus. * Ability to consistently perform detailed, repetitive work daily. * Work in a positive, productive, and professional manner. * Work independently and accurately to complete assigned duties in a timely manner. * Able to speak, hear and understand instructions. * Capable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers (both visually and aurally) and remembering their sequence. * Use of hands to handle and feel; reach with hands and arms. * Occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Able to bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and be able to reach shelves (eight feet) with use of stool or ladder when necessary. * Capable of lifting and moving merchandise of up to 60 lbs. * Able to push/pull up to 300 lbs. using mechanical aids, such as hand trucks, barrel dollies, hydraulic lifts, etc. * Able to stand and walk for entire work shift. * Work with or near moving mechanical parts. * Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. |
