Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts. We partner with customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. We're bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.

As a Senior Environmental Specialist at Worley, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative, data-driven solutions that support the transition to more sustainable energy sources. Drawing on deep multi-disciplinary expertise, you will lead and guide strategic planning, technical execution, and continuous improvement efforts across complex projects. Your work will directly support our ambition to lead global sustainability efforts by delivering integrated solutions that create value for our customers across the full asset lifecycle-from inception through to decommissioning and remediation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert-level technical consultation across projects in the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors, ensuring alignment with Worley's sustainability targets and customer expectations.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to devise practical, economically sound engineering solutions that address both current needs and future sustainability goals.

  • Lead planning efforts by contributing to both short- and long-term strategies, identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency across project lifecycles.

  • Drive cross-disciplinary integration and ensure technical quality through mentorship, guidance, and review of complex engineering deliverables.

  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans while managing project scope, risks, and deliverables within multi-functional teams.

  • Influence discipline-specific standards and policy frameworks, ensuring that best practices are adopted across teams and projects.

  • Represent Worley as a subject matter expert, providing insight and leadership on sustainability-focused engineering practices both internally and externally.

  • Promote the development and implementation of advanced tools, processes, and systems to enhance project execution and operational performance.

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and sustainable change by embedding our values and purpose into every aspect of work.

Qualifications / Skillset
  • University degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Extensive experience in a technical leadership role within the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors.

  • Recognized expertise in delivering complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation.

  • Deep understanding of integrated project delivery, lifecycle thinking, and asset optimization in alignment with environmental and commercial objectives.

  • Proven ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams through effective collaboration and thought leadership.

  • Advanced skills in engineering design, systems thinking, and technical problem-solving across diverse project scopes.

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to and lead the development of new processes, methodologies, and digital tools.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting and guiding discussions with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Passionate about sustainability and aligned with Worley's purpose to deliver a more sustainable world through transformative engineering solutions.
