ANNUAL SALARY (DEPENDING ON SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): $163,000.00 - $185,000.00

JOB SUMMARY: The Lead RN will be responsible and accountable for over-seeing the direct operations and patient flow of a designated Infusion Site on his/her respective shift. The Assistant RN Manager will support growth and quality at medical oncology sites across the enterprise consisting of Infusion centers, laboratory, and in office dispensing. The Assistant RN manager will support and model a service-oriented culture focused on employee engagement, quality, patient safety, service excellence, fiscal responsibility and the overall patient and physician experience.


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively with the nurse manager, site manager and site MO to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing leadership and direction for the nursing team.
  • Lead and participate in the development and implementation of local and organizational guidelines, protocols and standards.
  • Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes.
  • Assists patient compliance with therapy and continuity of care as needed.
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of new chemotherapy, other infusion drugs and informing staff of new protocols, medications and scheduling in-services.
  • Working with the Safety & Compliance Officer, is responsible for ensuring staff education on safety to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Continually looks for new ways to integrate technology and best practices to improve quality, reduce costs and remain compliant.
  • Responsible for informing and enforcing education has been completed and processes are being followed.
  • Collaborate with the RN Manager for recruitment/retention of Infusion Nurses (i.e., candidate screening/selection, travel/interview logistics, inclusion of appropriate staff and physicians in the interview process, and contacting professional references).
  • Develops and builds teams by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Guides, directs, and motivates team members by providing guidance and direction to team members, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Attends monthly site and Lead RN meetings.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
  • ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification preferred.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 years of clinical nursing experience required.
  • 2 year of experience in an outpatient oncology infusion center required.
  • 2 year of EMR experience required.

This position requires a full range of physical movement, including lifting and assisting patients, as well as manual dexterity and coordination. Prolonged periods of standing and walking are expected. The role may occasionally involve lifting and carrying items weighing between 11 and 20 pounds.
