Your Impact
You will be based in Washington, DC, working directly with McKinsey's central Public Affairs team as well as with internal and external stakeholders.
In this role, you will help define McKinsey's public affairs priorities and ensure their successful execution.
A key focus will be on effectively positioning of McKinsey as a thought leader and the development and cultivation of relationships with key stakeholders.
You will contribute to implementing the firm's public affairs strategy, supporting initiatives that enhance McKinsey's reputation and engagement with stakeholders.
You will also work on maintaining effective relationships on behalf of the firm with key policymakers with a goal of educating on the firm's value proposition.
In this capacity you will serve as an ambassador of McKinsey, by representing the firm in key forums and keeping firm interests at the forefront.
To be successful, you will collaborate frequently with key internal stakeholders, including colleagues from legal, compliance, and communications teams through support for firm leaders on emerging trends, opportunities, and threats as it pertains to the firm's initiatives around the world.

Your qualifications and skills
  • U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 3+ years of direct or high exposure to U.S. government
  • Preference for congressional or gubernatorial policy or political work
  • Excellent communicator with strong writing and storytelling skills
  • Skilled in building trust-based relationships
  • Able to work independently and to balance multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Enthusiasm for political and government relations

is $130,100 - $162,600 USD -to help you understand what you can expect. This reflects our best estimate of the lowest to highest

to remember that actual salaries may vary. Factors like your office location, your unique blend of experience and skills, start date and our current
organizational needs all play a part in determining the final figure. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to McKinsey's discretion
and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance.
