    Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring alignment with project goals and deadlines.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of asphalt paving crews, including foremen and laborers.
  • Oversee the delivery and management of asphalt materials, ensuring adequate supply for project needs.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure all work meets project specifications and standards.
  • Enforce safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all crew members.
  • Maintain clear communication with project managers, foremen, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily work, including time and materials, and prepare progress reports.
  • Identify and address any issues or challenges that arise during the paving process.
  • Optimize the utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials to maximize efficiency and productivity.

Job Description:

An Asphalt and Paving Superintendent oversees all on-site activities related to asphalt paving projects, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion. This role involves leading and managing paving crews, coordinating resources, and maintaining project documentation. Key responsibilities include planning, scheduling, material control, and direct supervision of field personnel.



Qualifications (Experience, Education & Certifications, Key Attributes):

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Asphalt Paving Superintendent or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and equipment operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control procedures.
  • Experience with project management and scheduling.
  • Valid driver's license.

Additional Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with GDOT projects or similar highway and airport paving.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, PMP).
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
